Irreducible complexity – reduced to absurdity

Darwin anticipated, and refuted, Behe’s argument that organisms could not evolve independently and could not change their function. Just as Darwin refuted Paley’s argument by making it redundant – by providing a simpler explanation which fitted the available evidence, so Darwin refuted Behe’s argument some 150 years before he came up with it. New forms evolve by “exaptation”.
